ESPC announces over 1,500 trees planted as part of sponsorship project
ESPC has announced the results of its project with The Future Forest Company this autumn, revealing that it has sponsored the planting of 1,542 trees in Scotland.
Earlier this summer, ESPC announced that it would be committing to sponsor the planting of one tree in Scotland for every property that was listed for sale with an ESPC Chartered solicitor estate agency during October and November 2023, collaborating with the visionary The Future Forest Company to do so.
To facilitate this, ESPC linked up with visionary organisation The Future Forest Company, which is dedicated to reforestation and nature restoration in the UK, working with local communities in an aim to create a greener and more resilient country for future generations.
The 1,542 trees sponsored by ESPC will be located at The Future Forest Company’s sites at Leadloch, a 155 Ha site in the Central Belt of Scotland. The site consists of degraded peatland, improved grassland, fenland, and conifer shelter belts. The Future Forest Company is working to restore degraded farmland and landscapes, and create new woodlands, healthy peatland and wildlife-rich habitats to restore nature on this site.
Paul Hilton, CEO of ESPC, commented: “We are very pleased to announce that over 1,500 trees will be planted on behalf of ESPC and its Chartered member firms, following a bumper autumn of property listings. We have hugely enjoyed working with The Future Forest Company and we, along with some representatives from our member firms, learned a huge amount about reforestation and what we can all do to help the environment, when we visited one of their fantastic sites in Stirlingshire early in October. It goes without saying that ESPC is delighted to be helping to raise awareness of the fantastic work The Future Forest Company does, and to be helping to create greener communities across Scotland for the future generations. We are also delighted that over 1,500 homeowners chose to list their properties with ESPC Chartered firms this autumn.”
David Elliot, CEO of The Future Forest Company said: "We're thrilled to have partnered with ESPC who have planted 1,542 trees this past Autumn. We commend ESPC for sharing our vision and contributing actively to a more sustainable world. Planting trees is a small action that creates a rippling impact, helping to restore nature and combat the climate crisis. We hope that ESPC's actions will inspire other businesses to join in these vital efforts to create a future we can all believe in."
There will be a tree planted for every property listed for sale with a solicitor estate agency that holds ESPC Chartered status, which guarantees the highest level of customer care, quality and service. Chartered firms are also expected to be working towards and in step with government commitments to be net-zero by 2050.
