ESPC announces project with The Future Forest Company
We are pleased to announce that we will be committing to sponsor the planting of a minimum of 1400 trees in Scotland this autumn, linking up with The Future Forest Company to do so.
We will sponsor a tree for every property listed for sale with an ESPC Chartered solicitor estate agency during October and November 2023, with this number expected to exceed 1400. To do this, we have chosen to link up with The Future Forest Company, a visionary organisation dedicated to reforestation and nature restoration in the UK, which works with local communities in an aim to create a greener and more resilient country for future generations.
The Future Forest Company has a comprehensive approach to reforestation, implementing sustainable land management and encouraging native species restoration to combat climate change. Its efforts provide multiple benefits, including carbon sequestration, improved air and water quality, biodiversity preservation, and social and economic benefits to local communities. The Future Forest Company ensures the ongoing success of the woodland projects developed by the organisation, promising greener, healthier spaces for the future.
The 1400 trees sponsored by ESPC will be located at The Future Forest Company’s various sites across Central and Southwestern Scotland.
Paul Hilton, CEO, ESPC, commented: “We are incredibly pleased to be announcing this project with The Future Forest Company on behalf of our ESPC Chartered firms. At ESPC, we care deeply about supporting the communities that our customers call home across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife, the Borders, Dumfries and Galloway and the West of Scotland. ESPC is delighted to be helping to raise awareness of the fantastic work of The Future Forest Company and the multiple, invaluable benefits its efforts provide across the country, helping to support the forests of the future across Scotland. This will also be an invaluable learning opportunity to understand how we can make positive changes to the environment for ESPC and our ESPC Chartered solicitor estate agents.”
Tom Newell, UK General Manager at The Future Forest Company, said: “We’re delighted to be working with ESPC. By choosing to plant trees with The Future Forest Company, ESPC is having a real impact towards increasing UK forest cover, improving biodiversity and reversing the climate crisis.”
The planting will apply to every property listed for sale with a solicitor estate agency that holds ESPC Chartered status; this is a new incentive introduced by ESPC in November 2022, that guarantees the highest level of customer care, quality and service from firms who have chosen to sign up to the policy. Chartered firms are also expected to be working towards and in step with government commitments to be net-zero by 2050. Over a quarter of ESPC member firms have signed up to the Charter initiative since its launch last year, with more expected to follow. Find out more about our ESPC Property Charter here.
